NAB (ANIMAL NEURO)
Neurobiology & Animal Behaviour
This course is taught via both lectures and practicals. The course is covered in a 'bottom up' fashion beginning with nerve cells and then moving onto behaviour. The first 2/3 is taught with the medics, including lectures on vision, hearing, olfaction, somatic sensation etc. There are also vet-only lectures on neuroanatomy in Michaelmas and behaviour in Lent.

The practicals are either dissections in the Vet Dissection Room for neuroanatomy or neurophysiology-based. There are 5 neurophysiology practicals and these are shared with the Medics.

How is it examined?
There are 3 papers for NAB: MCQ paper, Practical paper, Essay paper
The practical paper is further divided into neuroanatomy and neurophysiology sections

Tripos includes the essay paper and marks are distributed: Essay 50%, Practical 25%, MCQ 25%
VetMB involves an equal split between practical and MCQ
